I am Feeling: peaceful

Life is going well, as well as it was at my last journal posting. My ankle is much better now, I'm quite glad for that. My neighbor is still acting guilty over it however, I'm not sure why since it's not as though he wanted me hurt. I'm probably thinking about this far more than necessary, right?

And since I don't have anything better to do right now, Malik's meme )

I am Feeling: bored

For anyone who might have reason to care, I would like to remind the general public that Sunday is Mother's Day. Not much of a Japanese holiday, I know, but when has nationality stopped the citizens of Domino? I won't be doing anything special for my mother this year, same as every other year, but perhaps some of you will want to for yours. At least I assume a few people in Domino have mothers.

In unrelated news, I might have sprained my ankle on the stairs while helping a neighbor. I'll see in the morning if it still hurts or not, decide what to do next from that.

Honda, don't be getting any ideas that I like you or anything like that, just because I bought you a present. It was only because Kam wouldn't leave me alone about the issue. I just wanted to make certain we had that clear.

annoyed

I am Feeling: annoyed

School is going well; busy, but most definitely in a good way. However, it is reaching a point in which I wonder if I shall ever stop being taken for a high school student. A new year for the Japanese schools, a new round of confused students on the public transportation system wondering why I'm not in a uniform and why following me doesn't get them to where they are trying to go. Which confuses me, as I am clearly not Japanese and clearly not a schoolgirl, so why would they think they can follow me to their school?

Small blessing: in a few weeks they should settle into their new school and transportation patterns, at which time they will get used to the idea that I am outside their school-centric world. And that will naturally lead to them following each other instead of pointlessly trying to follow me. Unless they are like a certain increasingly odd neighbor of mine... but that is highly unlikely.

Hi Gramma,

I wroted Grampa a letter so now I write a letter for you. I am going to make pictures for you next time.

I made more new friends now. We paint and eat cookies and play in the pool and color. But not all at the same time. Mokuba gotted cookies and shared some, that was nice. He live in a orphanage and not with his family so he dont get cookies much. Mahaado can fly, he gets in trouble lots but he is nice too. Another boy likes magicky things, I dont know his name. Another boy likes baseball lots and lots. I dont know much about Anzu cept that she likes dancing and says familys should live together. Is it bad that mine dont?

There are still lots of boys and not enough books at camp but I dont mind as much no more.

Hi Grampa,

My new friend Ryou writes letters to his big sister, so I write a letter to you about my adventure. There are not enough books at camp, I do not like that. There are snacks and cookies, I like that. There are lots of boys at this camp, I do not know if I like that. Ryou and Malik are nice boys, so they are okay. Malik does not wear shoes.

Can we go to a museum when you get home from your adventure? Ryou's daddy works for a museum, Ryou says he is like you and goes to places to dig up stuff. I want to do that when I get big too. I find nothing interesting in the sandbox here except a toy car someone bury. Probably a boy.

Are there different kinds of dates? Me and Ryou and Malik think there must be.

I am Feeling: grateful

Thank you again, Ryou and Malik, for inviting me to go to the museum. Words truly cannot describe how incredible I found the current exhibit. If I knew where Kam has disappeared to, I would have already asked him to go with me. I suppose, should I find him soon, I could take an opportunity to see the exhibit again and ask him to go with me.

*sigh* Happy Holidays?

December 15th, 2008 (10:10 pm)
blah

I am Feeling: blah

I find myself feeling oddly Scrooge-like this holiday season, although I don't know why. My family have been no more intolerable in expressing desire to visit me or have me visit them this year than previous years. The stores I've gone to have been as perky and festive as last year, no more or less noticeably. There are different neighbors in my apartment building, true, but that shouldn't affect my perception of the holiday season. The only ideas I've had of what might be missing this year compared to previous years have been so laughably ridiculous that I won't even type them.

I am glad everyone who was able to make it to my Thanksgiving get-together this past weekend seemed to enjoy themselves, I know I certainly did as well. I look forward to finding a chance to spend time with all of you in the near future if possible, whether it be one-on-one or in another group setting. Thank you, again, to Mokuba and Noa for your offer.

Of Planes and Plans

November 13th, 2008 (10:51 pm)
productive

I am Feeling: productive

Congratulations again to Ryou on his yellow belt test! The party Malik threw for him was great, wasn't it? I'm glad I flew back to Japan in time for it.

I am also very glad I was lucky enough to not get caught up in that unpleasant mess that apparently occurred at the airport recently. Just thinking about that gives me the shivers.

Oh, and I almost forgot, I've made a few more plans about the Thanksgiving party after some discussion was had at Ryou and Malik's. As was the case last year, tables will be set up in the first-floor informal dining/lounge area of my building. Chicken will be served, since Japan isn't known for having turkey widely available. Ryou and Malik have already offered to bring creampuffs and salad, what dishes can other people who plan to attend provide? Any other questions people have?

((Current plan: Sunday 23rd, Mun intends to open a chat window around 6 pm Eastern 3 Pacific and let participating characters wander into the pre-party as they like. Any objections or major timing conflicts?))
